It's tough for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have already been conquered.

We're talking about the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, those for the record chasers, are all that remain for a squad that has accomplished all there is.

That it took up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a testament to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It's challenging for their hitters to maintain a record if not provided the possibility.

Ultimately, the outcome of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy getting a platform to deliver her newest gem.

Initially recognized as the 19-year-old niece of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after Australia failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has witnessed all through 15 successful years since.

A T20 championship victory happened three months after her debut and seven global championships have come from 10 tries across formats.

That loss "motivated us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy commented earlier.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the championship match and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not fall short again.

Whether this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort can be debated.

Many contend the case for the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the challenge that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this ton was far harder to predict.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 happened while she topped the run-scoring charts, but this knock followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"For those following me in training, it's been a frustrating experience because it seemed my form was missing at all," said Healy.

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and from that point the right-hander was in motion.

"The possibility to play and face the challenge with her and just have a bit of fun that way, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 deliveries - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 as she punished short deliveries, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

By the time she was dismissed the team needed 66 additional runs at run per delivery - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm happy we have the confidence to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it again but, should it happen, we believe we can do it."

That comment will be the last rival teams at this tournament want to hear.

In recent days a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this triumph coming after win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

It was at that stage they left last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at a major tournament.

So strong is her resolve, she later said she wanted to have participated through the pain.

Yet even as she subsequently acknowledged those fitness problems have postponed plans to retire, this World Cup is expected to be her last as captain in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as leader.
